Bob Doesn't Like The Shoe Being On The Other Foot

Today, Bob was outraged! Outraged over the Department of Homeland Security releasing a report saying what I’ve been saying for years: There is a growing right-wing terror threat in this country.
"Right-wing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning," the assessment reads.
"The current economic and political climate has some similarities to the 1990s when right-wing extremism experienced a resurgence fueled largely by an economic recession, criticism about the outsourcing of jobs and the perceived threat to U.S. power and sovereignty by other foreign powers.," it continues.
Bob is crying that the report is saying that ANYONE who has a conservative viewpoint is now being accused of being a terrorist.

No, Bob. You know that’s not what it’s saying.

What it’s saying is that the groups long ignored by the Bush administration, like The Army of God, are now using the election of Barack Obama as an excuse to carry out acts of terrorism.

Bob, now you know how the Muslims felt when you made them out to all be terrorists. (And I know: You’ll claim that you never said they were ALL terrorists.)

But remember you did say that most Muslims are either terrorists or supporting terrorists.

Oh, ye hypocrites....

Bob is crying that Bush didn’t do this to liberals. Sure he did. Remember the Earth Liberation Front? A left-wing terrorist group that was described as “the most serious threat to the nation.”

Quitcher cryin’, Bob. You’re getting what you had coming to you.

EDIT: Bob just brought up ELF, saying it wasn't the same because liberals weren't painted with such a "broad brush". Oh c'mon, Bob! You love painting Muslims with a broad brush! Welcome to their world!

Also, Bob, it might help if you didn't have terrorists like Cheryl Sullenger on your show.

BTW-I tried calling Bob to tell him this. The phone rang 50 times before the line went dead. Maybe they have my number blacklisted:).

There is a posting on Thinkprogress.org that the report Bob is ranting against was commissioned BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION and wasn't completed until recently. DHS was also commissioned by the Bush admin to look into LEFT WING extremist groups. Bob should stop following the latest line by Fox News et al as stay with his own unique rants but then Bob doesn't seem to be able to think for himself. ( PS Thinkprogress.org has posted a clip from a Fox News report where a Fox news reporter, Catherine Herridge, is the one who mentions that is was the Bush administration that initiated looking into domestic extremistcgroups, right and left )wing

Just an addendum to my prior post. Here is the quote by Fox News Catherine Herridge as reported on Thinkprogress.org 4-15-09:
"Well this is an element of the story which has largely gone unreported. One looks at right wing groups as you mention. And a second is on left wing groups. Significantly both were requested by the Bush administration but not finished until Bush left office".
Now I know the end of days is approaching: Somebody on Fox News is actually reporting the truth!!!! Run for the hills!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the added comment but there is an ironic moment in the clip that Think progress has posted. It shows former Bush press spokeperson Dana Perino, being interviewed on a Fox show, saying the following:" If Bush had done that" ( my remarks; that is commissioned a report on left wing groups) " we would be having a different conversation". She then mentions that if the Bushies had done this to the left " special prosectutors would have been called for" as well as apologies. How ironic. The Bush administration DID do this. See this at the 1:54 mark into the clip.

After ignoring Bob (and my own blog) for over a month, I managed to tune in yesterday and hear this very bit of paranoia. Bob challenged his listeners to read the document themselves. Well, I challenge them to do the same thing. This document does not even suggest that all conservatives are a threat. Instead, it clearly defines what they mean by "right-wing extremists", namely (1) white supremacists and (2) militia groups.

The only way a sane person could be threatened by such warnings is if they belonged to a white supremacist group or a militia group.

So, Bob, why are you offended? Do you secretly run around wearing a white sheet while stockpiling weapons and bomb making materials?

I'm with Bob on this one. Lets stock pile some weapons and join a malitia. That'll teach em to call us a threat.
What happened to Bob's opinion of profiling? He said that if the terrorists all A Holes with red hair, he wouldn't mind being stopped and questioned. Inconsistant.
