Bob Needs Democracy Training

Bob is constantly blathering that the Founding Fathers created the government to promote Christianity.  Take a listen:

So, according to Bob, Jefferson "needed biblical training," yet still wanted to promote Christianity.

This is the same Thomas Jefferson, who, in his Notes on Virginia, wrote, "Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity."

So Jefferson, who was hostile to Christianity, wanted to "blend" the Church and State?  Does Bob believe his own bullshit?

If the Founding Fathers wanted to "blend" Church and State, why didn't they say so?  Why didn't the Founding Fathers simply compose the First Amendment to read "While Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of a national church, Congress shall make law promoting the Christian religion?"

The answer is obvious:  The Founding Fathers believed that the authority of government is not found in religious belief, but rather, in the consent of the governed.  A person's beliefs are irrelevant to governmental authority, as long that person is committed to democratic ideals.

Furthermore, Bob has never provided any evidence that the Bible contains democratic ideals.  According to the Bible, God's approved form of Government is a divine monarchy, where God anoints a king and the people must submit.  If anything, the Bible is anti-democratic!

Ask yourself:  In which Gospel does the word "democracy" appear?  What Biblical passage expounds on a tripartite government, consisting of executive, legislative and judicial branches?  In which parable does Jesus explain that good government results from the consent of the governed?

Bob will never answer these questions.  No, Bobby will only offer twisted history and pseudo-evidence in an attempt to achieve his true goal:  A Government that requires its citizens to submit to the Dutko Approved! form of Christianity.

What a dick.

Wow..in my experience bloggers are really good at only presenting half truth’s on their posts..well you don't disappoint, Im looking forward to discussing some of these posts with you. But just to make sure to be clear, you called into a Christian radio show, it does not appear you’re a Christian so talking to you about Biblical views will be difficult so I
will try to work within the context of your world view. Also based on
your post you are furious that Bob is “dishonest” yet here is a comment from your own posting…

“It started out with Bob introducing me as DJ from Waterford. I was nervous at first because I was on the radio and about to rip the man a new one on his show”

“Me: Bob, I put my faith and trust in Jesus, and he calls us to search for the truth”

So its clear to make a point you have no issue lying about who you are and what you believe... so I will take that into consideration when answering you. Liberals get SO mad when people disagree with them, they think the other side is all liars. The funny thing about that is I thought Liberals are the kings of tolerance and love..well except when people disagree with you right?? ..Then you resot to the words in your post. Ok I know the question that pops in your head… “why would you say Im not a Christian!!!” no I don’t know your heart but let me again quote you from your postings and as the old saying goes"if it walks like duck, talks like a duck, sounds like a duck" well just being honest with you, you don't sound like a Christian if I am wrong I apoligize but lets examine your thoughts and words.......

Ending line on post 09/29/10 “what a dick”

In your 09/16/10 post "How fucking noble!"

Ending line on post 09/16/10 “ Bob is spreading bullshit, buy you’ll never hear him admit it….”

Also to clear the record you’re a liberal Iraq Veteran.. I am a conservative Iraq veteran., my uniform carries a combat patch with the mighty AA symbol on it and my jump wings have the gold star for a combat jump on it ( Panama Invasion and Desert Storm ) so at a minimum hopefully we can discuss things brothers in arms.. and one last thing..you comments rule says the following... "Remember: This blog is not a democracy. I may publish your comment or I may not" you called Bob a coward and how he had a big ego for not talking to you, so if you don't post this I will post on your other sites to show what a hypocrit you are if you don't accept someone who is willing to dialog with you...so if your up to having your view challenged in a respectful way... let the games begin

I am not DJ. DJ is a separate person who has shared his experiences with Bobbo.

I'm Irl, and I'm responsible for my words. I make no claim to be a Christian. Nor am I a military veteran.

I'm just a guy who sees through Dutko's bullshit and recognize him for the ignorant self-serving prick he is.

If your inability to distinguish between two different people is an indicator of your abilities, I doubt you could challenge me to much.

But thanks for playing.

I think the problem with this post is you don’t understand why Bob is discussing this subject. The topic was about how the ACLU and other groups at every turn are suing the government anytime any one in public office mentions the word God or Jesus. This is backed by the problem by some of the Supreme Court justices( since they don’t know how to read a history books) are ruling that these senseless lawsuits are valid. Bob’s issue is that now we have gotten down to if a high school football coach wants to say a voluntary prayer at a game somehow this is a violation of the constitution.

On your notes on Virginia I will accuse of you cutting and pasting things out of context, you took one sentence out of 5 pages of words…. That same set of notes you quoted also says this “The present state of our laws on the subject of religion is this. The convention of May 1776, in their declaration of rights, declared it to be a truth, and a natural right, that the exercise of religion should be free” If he thinks Christianity is so evil why does he think it should be free to exercise?

When one reads all 5 pages this is what Jefferson says, humans are prejudice, we only like our own ways, when our fellow believers are in power we make rules that benefit our point of view. He tells of the monstrous things we have done persecuting people for not believing exactly our way. He proposes that instead of forcing people to follow our rules we should have freedom to exercise our own religion. He also stated this in the same notes you quoted “Let us reflect that it(the earth) is inhabited by a thousand millions of people. That these profess probably a thousand different systems of religion. That ours is but one of that thousand. That if there be but one right, and ours that one, we should wish to see the 999 wandering sects gathered into the fold of truth. But against such a majority we cannot effect this by force. Reason and persuasion are the only practicable instruments”
So to wrap up Bob is complaining about all these groups that hate the word God and state you can’t talk about God in any form even down to the last janitor in schools system because he/she is a public employee.
So my question for you is this why do you think Bob wants to start a theocracy (Christian Based)….that’s what your post is implying…. You said “Bob has never produced any evidence that the Bible contains demorcratic ideals”…why would he need too??

Last point you are right God does only approve one form of governing…Divine Monacrhy..God is the King of Kings the Lord of Lords… and I am very happy about that…. He does not lie has makes no mistakes..he is all knowing and the creator of all…and He is the one really in charge….funny thing is people think they ‘won’t let him” be in charge…last time I checked he does not need out permission to be God.
Irl I am looking forward to your thoughts… thanks for your time to read this.

Okay, I'll play.

You claim that "the ACLU and other groups at every turn are suing the government anytime any one in public office mentions the word God or Jesus."

Bullshit. Name one lawsuit that emerged from George Bush flogging Christian nonsense in a speech.

You claim that "some of the Supreme Court justices( since they don’t know how to read a history books) are ruling that these senseless lawsuits are valid."

Bullshit. Why don't you demonstrate your knowledge of the rules involving standing and when its proper for a court to determine when a person has a colorable claim?

And while you're implying that you're a historian, why don't you explain the causes of the Bible Riots of 1844 and why the Grand Juries sided against the Catholics?

Are you claiming that Jefferson thought that the opinions on religion were so multifarious that he proscribed absolute freedom? Then why did he (among others) limit the Government's ability enact laws based on the bible? How do you reconcile your "freedom to lead a prayer" at a football game with the limits proscribed by the Establishment Clause?

Finally, since you admit that Democratic Principles aren't found in the Bible, where do they come from? If God doesn't approve of Democracy, how can Christians?

I look forward to your answers.

Jim,

Of course he did. He's all mouth, no brain. Just like Dutko.

You've demonstrated that you are incapable of contributing constructively.

By the way, I can recommend a good dictionary and volume on grammar, should you decide to leave further comments.

Thanks for playing.
