Bob had some anti-choice person on who threw out this whopper about Barack Obama:
"A couple of weeks ago, he [Obama] made the comment about those that are 'weak' and 'need religion.'"Bob agreed along quietly, muttering, "oh, right."
Not true! Barack Obama made no such comment! It's another lie on top of the of the other lies, served up fresh by Bob every day!
Who could believe this statement, anyway?
Obama is a Christian who attends church on a regular basis. In his speech to the 2004 Democratic National Convention, he specifically mentioned worshiping an "awesome God." In fact, between him, Clinton, and McCain, I would argue that Obama is the most religious of the three! Why would Obama characterize religious people as "weak," when he himself is religious?!

Actually, Obama did say something of that nature. Here is the quote:
"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. I'm surprised you hadn't heard about this since it has been quite controversial and all over political news. Christians found it offensive to suggest their reason for clinging to faith was only out of bitterness. Nothing could be further from the truth! It also suggests that clinging to religion is a bad thing, and coming from a supposed believer, it seems somewhat telling of his own reasons for being religious.
Hanna, Obama didn't say that people need religion out of weakness. Bob refused to correct the lie.
Also, Hanna, Bob cares nothing for the Christian faith. The only thing he cares about is getting Republicans elected. Why do you think he's been taking so much time trashing the faith of Obama, who is clearly a much more religious man than McCain?

Oh, I've heard Obama's comment. But it wasn't controversial with me. Furthermore, it isn't even close to what Dutko's guest said. Obama never said that religious people are "weak" as was implied and readily agreed to by Bob.

Well, there you go, putting your own "spin" on the comments. Obama never said the ONLY reason for clinging to faith was bitterness. In fact, you've got it completely backwards. Obama merely said that the bitterness of losing one's job, having little future prospects may lead one to cling to religion, guns, etc. I think this is an accurate statement. If you lost your job and couldn't replace it for years and years, wouldn't you turn more towards your faith?
